            PhD program in Sociology. Research on masculinities. Supervisor: Dr. Jacqueline Kennelly.

2009 – 2011                 Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC
            MA program in Sociology. Research on women involved in the punk scene in Vancouver, BC. Supervisor: Dr. Dany Lacombe.

2007 – 2009                Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC
            Post-baccalaureate diploma in Sociology. This includes upper level courses in statistics and qualitative and quantitative research methods.

            Bachelor of Arts specializing in modern African and Middle Eastern history. Also Women’s Studies, Sociology and some language courses: German, Spanish & Arabic.

Research and teaching…                

November - December 2014  Instructor (Carleton University) Took over teaching and administration of SOCI 2002 (Quantitative Methods) after professor went on emergency leave.

September 2012 - present  Statistics Consultant, MacOdrum Library Data Centre (Carleton University).

September 2011 - present  Teaching assistant, Sociology (Carleton University).
            2nd and 3rd year quantitative methods courses and 1st and 2nd year introductory sociology courses

May 2010 – August 2010  Teaching assistant (Simon Fraser University). SA 150 (Introduction to Sociology).

September 2009 – April 2010  Teaching assistant (Simon Fraser University) Lab assistant for SA 355 (Quantitative methods in Sociology). I filled this position over two semester with two different professors.

January 2009 – April 2009  Research assistant (Simon Fraser University). I worked with Dr. Richard Parent (Criminology) on qualitative research concerning the use of force by police across Canada and quantitative research on deaths by handguns in the US and Canada.

January 2008 – January 2009  Research assistant (Simon Fraser University) I worked with Dr. Brian Burtch (Criminology, Women’s Studies) on research focused on the correspondence of prominent prison abolitionist, Claire Culhane.
